HEALTH AND WELLBEING COORDINATOR

POSITION:

Health and Wellbeing (H&W) Coordinator supporting the development of
H&W programmes, across all sectors of society.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Health and Wellbeing is a key strategy of BCYC. The Health and
Wellbeing Coordinator will report to the Centre Manager. The role
requires a confident person who works well alone and as part of a
team. The Coordinator must have a good working knowledge of Health and
Wellbeing issues. The ideal candidate will have at least three
years? experience designing activities and facilitating groups of
all ages. The Coordinator must be flexible and may be requested to
cover other duties as assigned.

BCYC operate under the umbrella of a set of strategies to develop
services and to conform with ethical standards in all areas of
operations. These have been identified as:

* Health and Wellbeing
* Social Inclusion and Diversity
* Education and Learning
* Revenue Generation
* Volunteer Programmes

DUTIES

* To coordinate Health and Wellbeing programmes for Active Age and
Childcare projects, where deemed appropriate to the development of
services and in conjunction with the Cairde Coordinator
* To lead and develop the Active Age project in line with the core
ethical standards identified

* To promote a healthy lifestyle throughout work and daily practices
including the following:

*

* Connecting with others to improve services
* Supporting people to be active within their community
* Develop programmes to suit the needs identified within the
catchment area
* To be the Deputy DLP when the manager is not present
* To encourage lifelong learning and support same and
* Encourage participants to give back to the centre and their
community at large

* To prepare and manage Health and Wellbeing budgets, petty cash and
report on a monthly basis to the manager or BOM
* To work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, centre users,
local community and statutory organisations as required for the
programmes within the centre
* Using Skedda or SportKey, to manage room bookings in conjunction
with the appropriate personnel and in line with internal best practice
procedures and assist with its developments in accordance with the
guideline of the centre.
* To complete training as identified to support internal programmes
and the centre
* To work with the Meals on Wheels project and take a lead role as
required
* To carry out other duties from time to time and as directed by the
manager, driven by the needs of the services
* The hours will be decided before the start-up date of this role
however it is envisaged that some evening and possibly weekend work
will be required as the role develops

ESSENTIAL

* Experience in Health and Wellbeing projects
* Three years? experience working with groups of all ages
* Excellent administrative skills with good knowledge of Microsoft
Office
* Ability to manage time effectively and priorities work to meet
same

DESIRABLE

* Qualification in Health and Fitness
* Experience of working in the community and voluntary sector
* Knowledge and experience in overseeing the management and
preparation of food, in line with HACCP guidelines an advantage
